Although the opportunities for M&A in Southeast Asia are abundant, Swedish businesses have been mainly focused on acquisitions in China and India, and less on growth in this region. Why is that? Are Swedish companies, in fact, missing out?
In session, Mr Benjamin Swedberg, Country Manager SEB Singapore, will set the scene with a macroeconomic perspective on why Southeast Asia should be attractive to Swedish firms and what the driving factors are behind SEA M&A growth. Mr Enrique Patrickson, CFO APAC & MEA at Electrolux, will then take us on a deep dive into the rationale of M&A, why it is needed and how to start the process to make it work. Enrique has vast experience of leading large scale M&A projects, and will cover areas such as basics of valuation and due diligence, governance and pipeline building. He will share his experience from working on transactions in the region and what the key principles to success are.
We hope that this will be the starting point for a series of SwedCham seminars and round table discussions on the theme Growth in SEA, where both SMEs and larger corporations can benefit from sharing their own experiences and learning from others.
